Author Talk: Without Shame- Learning to be Me with Connelly Akstens

Transgender author and activist Connelly Akstens will read from her recent memoir. Players called Akstens’ book  “intimate, bold, relevant to our time and funny as hell.” Akstens currently teaches Shakespeare and the History of Ideas at Empire State College of the State University of New York. She has also been a volunteer for SpeakOUT Boston, a concert performer and recording artist, professional fly fishing guide and long-time contributor to Adirondack Life. The reading is free and open to the public.

Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites, George Hail Library's book sharing group, meets on the first Friday of the month (September through August) 11am-12 noon


New members are always welcome.  Each participant is encouraged to talk about a book they would like to recommend to others.

Books on Main

Books on Main is a monthly book club sponsored by the Friends of the Library. We meet in the Children's Room of George Hail Free Library on the second Thursday of every month at 6pm. Books are supplied by the library.
